Haussmann's Oval Windows tables are hand-carved in Thailand from a single solid block of monkeypod wood. Their oval openings and individual grain make every piece unique. Choose a 15-inch diameter x 20-inch height in Walnut or a 20-inch diameter, 18-inch flat-sided width x 20-inch height in Mocha. Available size and finish combinations are shown above.
A solid wood side table with its own character
Use this sculptural wood accent table beside a sofa or chair, as a bedside table, or as a display pedestal for a lamp, bowl, or plant. The oval openings give the substantial solid wood form a lighter visual feel. Each piece is carved from one wood block rather than assembled from laminated boards, and arrives fully assembled.
Hand-carved monkeypod wood
The material is solid monkeypod (Samanea saman), also called rain tree and marketed in the US as acacia. Haussmann's artisans in Thailand kiln-dry, rough-shape, and hand-carve the wood. Grain, knots, natural checks, mineral streaks, and chainsaw or chisel marks vary from piece to piece. Some areas may be smoothed or repaired with wood glue mixed with sawdust during finishing.
Two wood finishes
Walnut and Mocha describe the finish colors, not different wood species. Each table is monkeypod wood finished with OSMO Wood Wax Finish. The translucent finish lets the natural grain and underlying wood tones show through, so the shade of your table will vary from the photographs.

Yes. The Oval Windows is hand-carved from a solid monkeypod wood block. It is not a veneer-covered table or a flat-pack kit. Wood glue mixed with sawdust may be used for repairs during finishing.

Which height should I choose?

Care & Maintenance — how to look after this piece
Beautiful piece! It’s my second one I’ve ordered. Be aware it is wood and it will possibly crack, this piece did at the base. The seller states this in the description so don’t be surprised or upset if it happens.
