Haussmann’s Natural Cube tables are hand-carved in Thailand from solid monkeypod wood. Their natural forms and individual grain make every piece unique. Choose a 12 x 12 x 20-inch table or a 16 x 16 x 16-inch cube in Walnut, or an 18 x 18 x 18-inch cube in Walnut or Oak. Available size and finish combinations are shown above.
A solid wood side table with its own character
Use this sculptural wood accent table beside a sofa or chair, as a bedside table, or as a display pedestal for a lamp, bowl, or plant. The Natural Cube forms show the character of the solid wood, with natural openings on the 12- and 16-inch designs. Each piece is carved from one wood block rather than assembled from laminated boards, and arrives fully assembled.
Hand-carved monkeypod wood
The material is solid monkeypod (Samanea saman), also called rain tree and marketed in the US as acacia. Haussmann's artisans in Thailand kiln-dry, rough-shape, and hand-carve the wood. Grain, knots, natural checks, mineral streaks, and chainsaw or chisel marks vary from piece to piece. Some areas may be smoothed or repaired with wood glue mixed with sawdust during finishing.
Two wood finishes
Walnut and Oak describe the finish colors, not different wood species. Each table is monkeypod wood finished with OSMO Wood Wax Finish. The translucent finish lets the natural grain and underlying wood tones show through, so the shade of your table will vary from the photographs.

Is this end table real solid wood?
Yes. The Natural Cube is hand-carved from a solid monkeypod wood block. It is not a veneer-covered table or a flat-pack kit. Wood glue mixed with sawdust may be used for repairs during finishing.
Will my table look exactly like the photographs?
The Natural Cube design and selected size and finish will match your choice. The grain, knots, natural checks, tool marks, and finished shade vary, making every table individual.
Which size should I choose?
Measure beside the sofa, chair, or bed where the table will sit. Choose the 12 x 12-inch top with a 20-inch height for a narrower space, or a 16- or 18-inch cube for a larger top. Walnut is offered in all three sizes; Oak is offered in the 18-inch cube.
