Haussmann Merlot 14-Inch Round Top, 20-Inch Hand-Carved Solid Wood End Table

Haussmann's Merlot end table is hand-carved in Thailand from a single solid wood block. Its rounded pedestal design and individual grain make every piece unique. The table has a 14-inch round top, a 15-inch widest diameter, an 11-inch base and a 20-inch height. Choose Walnut, Mocha or Dark Walnut.
A solid wood side table with its own character
Use this sculptural wood accent table beside a sofa or chair, as a bedside table, or as a display pedestal for a lamp, bowl, or plant. Its curved form narrows toward the base. Each piece is carved from one wood block rather than assembled from laminated boards, and arrives fully assembled.
Hand-carved solid wood
The Walnut and Dark Walnut tables are solid monkeypod (Samanea saman), also called rain tree and marketed in the US as acacia. The Mocha table is solid mango wood. Haussmann's artisans in Thailand kiln-dry, rough-shape, and hand-carve the wood. Grain, knots, natural checks, mineral streaks, and chainsaw or chisel marks vary from piece to piece. Some areas may be smoothed or repaired with wood glue mixed with sawdust during finishing.
Three wood finishes
Walnut, Mocha and Dark Walnut describe the finish colors. The translucent finish lets the natural grain and underlying wood tones show through, so the shade of your table will vary from the photographs.

Common questions
Is this end table real solid wood?
Yes. The Merlot is hand-carved from a solid wood block. It is not a veneer-covered table or a flat-pack kit. Wood glue mixed with sawdust may be used for repairs during finishing.
Will my table look exactly like the photographs?
The Merlot design and selected size and finish will match your choice. The grain, knots, natural checks, tool marks, and finished shade vary, making every table individual.
Will this size fit beside my seat?
Measure beside the sofa, chair, or bed where the table will sit. The Merlot is 20 inches high, with a 14-inch top and a 15-inch widest diameter.
Are Walnut and Dark Walnut different woods?
No. Walnut and Dark Walnut are finish names on this listing, both applied to solid monkeypod wood. The Mocha option uses solid mango wood.

Care & Maintenance — how to look after this piece
Looks great - fast shipping - perfect side table
Nicely crafted. Great piece. Will buy again from shop.
Wonderful piece, good quality. Perfect addition to my bath area. Careful packaging.
This stool is just what I wanted and is lovely, the wood is beautiful and it came packaged with great care. Thank you!
beautiful table. i bought one years ago before the store closed and they went to etsy. this is my second one (same style different stain). both are what i expected. hand crafting has its tell tale signs so one must understand that. great product for the price.
Great table! Arrived as expected and beautiful!
Beautiful craftsmanship. Ordering process was easy. Delivered timely and thoughtfully. Very happy with my purchase!
The item was well-made and packaged with care. I don't know that you could realistically do better in terms of craftsmanship & materiality for the price.
Item as expected. Shipped and arrived quickly. Thanks.
First point is customer service is top notch. Response time is really good. All questions answered completely and without any confusion. My biggest challenge is with the difference between what is pictured and what I got. I realize this is a natural product and wood varies but still it is really difficult when trying to design with a specific look to get what you are expecting. So it was really about how it looks in the room. Also the top surface was not as finished as I would like. I can see course sand marks that makes this piece a bit more rustic than I had hoped. Overall the price is great, shop time was excellent and the packaging was flawless. My biggest caveat is that if you are particularly discriminating between careful as this is a piece that may or may not fit the bill. If you are flexible in your expectations it is a great value.
Beautiful stools/tables. Great experience. I appreciated knowing they might not be perfect, which is the case, but the variations add even more character.
Great living room side table!
Here goes. My reviews is muted by one thing. I table is a great shape and I like that it is carved out in the center so it is lighter weight. However, it feel hardly finished. Most of the exterior is rough to the touch and color is missing in about half of it. It is dry and I need to apply something. I am not sure if I need to sand first. You were kind enough to recommend pledge but online, most woodworkers caution against pledge and instead recommend products that you suggested that I do not bother with. It feels as though the finishing step was missed. Therefore I am reluctant to recommend it. I'm sorry and hate to give negative reviews but I am being honest. This is an unfinished piece.
The table is perfect- size-look- weight- exceptional and the price point was amazing. If you need an end table - stop right here and get this.
Great response and service. And, most importantly, just as advertised. Thanks.
Came super fast and very well packaged. Really great wooden table. Would buy again, great seller!

I am using this as a side table in my living room but it could also be used as a plant stand, stool, etc. It is a beautiful, natural piece of mildly and expertly finished wood that complements the organic vibe of the room.
